WCR-reported study results
Prepare people for the actual demands
WCR describes prescreening conversations that addressed the gluten challenge and the practical burden of participation. The study required repeated appointments and consistent diary activity. Explaining those commitments helped candidates consider what joining would involve.
Separate screening from study completion
Twelve participants were screened, four were screen failures, and eight enrolled and randomized. All eight randomized participants completed the study. Enrollment was approximately 33.3% above the original forecast of six. The completion result applies to the eight randomized participants, rather than everyone who entered screening.
Support the routine between visits
Daily reminders and shared outreach responsibilities were part of WCR’s diary support. For sponsors evaluating a demanding gastroenterology protocol, the discussion should include how the team will follow up between visits. WGR coordinates recruitment, local review, and ongoing operational support around that complete participant pathway.
