Pediatric Migraine Trial Recruitment & Retention: WCR Case
A Phase 3 chronic migraine study exceeded its original randomization goal while coordinating diaries and appointments around adolescents and their families.

WCR-reported study results
Daily routines mattered between appointments
WCR describes coordinating communication with adolescents and caregivers, with attention to diary activity, school, and household schedules. The practical support was part of keeping study requirements connected to family life.
Enrollment and completion tell different stories
Ten participants were screened and eight randomized against an original goal of six, approximately 33.3% above that goal. Seven randomized participants completed the study, and one was lost to follow-up. The source does not classify the two screened participants who did not randomize.
Ask how responsibility is shared
Pediatric protocols require clarity about who receives reminders, who supports diaries, and how the team responds when follow-up becomes difficult. WGR connects those questions with staffing and participant-support planning. The goal is a specific, workable plan that respects the roles of the participant, caregiver, investigator, and research team.
